breathe it in

music is therapy.
live music is therapy, losing yourself in the music, closing your eyes and feeling the energy of everyone else around you. it's like there's a bubble around you and your world where everything is okay, and everything is fine.

songs are memories to me.
i can listen to a song and typically it will have a very specific life changing, altering, or just a really important moment behind it.

i remember what song was playing in the truck when i first realized tom wasn't happy with me anymore.
i remember what song was playing when i realized i didn't know who i was.
i remember what song was playing when i first really let someone in.
i remember what song was playing when i first decided to let my walls down.
i remember what song was playing when i fell in love, with my best friend, and realized he will always be there for me.
i remember what song was playing when i was laughing so hard with my friends i started crying.
i remember what song was playing when me and my family were sitting on the porch laughing, and i realized that we were all friends, and would always have eachother.
i remember what song was playing when i really felt close with my brother for the first time. both of them.
i remember what song was playing, in many different circumstances, when i realized/realize that i need to be true to myself. and that i have to admit i'm not okay, but that i will be.
i remember what song was playing when i decided i was moving away.

i remember what song was playing when i realized i was alone, and i had to do it on my own.

I miss you guys like crazy, you're my sturdy ground The only emotions I have towards you are anger, sadness and pity, and maybe a little compassion.
