You live in a house of pebbles.
Breathing sparingly as to not crumble
your carefully constructed walls-
keeping all at a distance,
keeping you trapped.
You are crying out to leave
but no one hears your tears.
You move so carefully
as to not disrupt your convincing.
You cry out for help-
yet still, no one hears;
your sobbing barely breaking
the silence.
You've been here for too long:
admiring all the smoothly-shappen rocks.
You've constructed your masterpiece,
and yet you cannot share it.
You've trapped yourself in,
and locked the others out.
It's been to long-
you scream, no words are formed-
just the loudness leaves you now.
You befriend it, and let all the pain leave your body
with this one mustered up scream.
The stones fall all around you now;
and with them you crumble to the ground.
you lay there shaking now, surrounded by your pebbles.
A lost empire, yet a smile breaking on your face,
A love lost, a new path gained.
