Silence

As the cold sun pours through my window
And allows half of me to show
I wonder of these things
Who am I to be
Where am I to go

When shall my sorrow cease
How will I push on
Where am I to hide my pain
When the drape of my heart is drawn

How in any certain way
Am I to let them see
The detrimental ghost
That is tearing away at me

How am I to smile the truth
When everything feels like lies
How am I to let anyone see
When all I am accustomed to
are goodbyes

The silence has never been so loud
The trees have never seemed so mean
The water has never felt so still
The clouds never used to scream

And so I beggingly ask
Where will I end up
Who am I to be
Then the answer comes with the wind
"You are to be free"

Isn't that what friends are for? We're the insect life of paradise crawl across leaf or among towering blades of grass glimpse only sometimes the amazing breadth of heaven You're as loved as you w...
